Wong, Dr. Patrick

Clinical Associate Professor

Dr. Patrick Wong is an Infectious Diseases physician with clinical and research interests in viral hepatitis, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C, as well as quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing access to high-quality care for immunocompromised patients with infections, and optimizing transitions of care from inpatient to outpatient settings. He completed medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases subspecialty training at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has also completed additional training in physician quality improvement.
Dr. Wong serves as Head of the Department of Medicine at Surrey Memorial Hospital. His leadership interests include enhancing subspecialty medical services and advancing medical education programs, including contributing to the development of the Fraser Health Internal Medicine Residency Program at UBC. His work focuses on advancing clinical excellence, quality improvement, medical education, and patient-centered care.
