
Press, Dr. Natasha
Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Natasha Press is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Her clinical responsibilities include the care of patients at St. Paul’s Hospital, who present with community or hospital acquired infections. She is Medical Lead of the Infection Unit, a 24-bed unit committed to treating patients admitted for infections and in the setting of substance use disorder or HIV.
Dr. Press graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School (1995) and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of British Columbia. Following that, she did a research fellowship in HIV clinical trials with the Canadian HIV Trials Network.
Administrative roles have included: Director of the Anal Dysplasia Clinic (2005-2016), Program Director of the Infectious Diseases subspecialty training program (2007-2020), and Medical Lead of the Infection Unit (2025- ongoing).
She was a co-investigator on two clinical trials for treatment or prevention of COVID-19 at St. Paul’s Hospital, in collaboration with her Infectious Disease colleagues.
Teaching awards include the Donald M. Whitelaw Award for Outstanding Grand Rounds, Honour Roll for Clinical Teaching Excellence, St. Paul’s Hospital Graeme C. Copland Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Fay R. Dirks Award for Excellence in Teaching
