Leung, Dr. Victor
Dr. Victor Leung is an infectious diseases physician and medical microbiologist working at Providence Health Care (PHC). He is the lead physician for both the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Infection Prevention and Control at PHC. He is also a senior consultant for the BCCfE-HIV/AIDs sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections program. He teaches at UBC medical school and is Clinical professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Dr. Leung obtained is medical degree and internal medicine residency training from UBC and pursued combined fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at McGill University. His research interests include developing surveillance systems for nosocomial infections and exploring transmission dynamics of infectious diseases. He also has interests in implementation science and quality improvement to advance vaccination strategies and antimicrobial stewardship interventions to reduce the practical threats of antimicrobial resistance.
