Vanessa Gow-Lee is a Transplant Infectious Diseases physician with Vancouver Coastal Health. She attended medical school at Loma Linda University, internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN (where she stayed an extra year as a chief medical resident), and infectious diseases training at Stanford University in California. In addition, she earned her Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas diploma course in Lima, Peru.

Her clinical and research interests include invasive fungal infections in immunocompromised hosts and the prevention & treatment of tuberculosis particularly in the peri-transplant setting.

She is originally from Washington State in the USA and is eager to experience all the outdoor opportunities in British Columbia. Her hobbies include trail running, downhill and cross country skiing, surfing, rock climbing (sport), mountaineering, backpacking, and her cat (Gulliver). She is also always eager to hear new book recommendations.
