affiliate Assistant Professor

Clement Tsui is Principal Scientific Officer in National Centre for Infectious Disease, Singapore with appointment as Assistant Professor in Nanyang Technological University and University of British Columbia, Canada. His work involves molecular epidemiology and metagenomics of microbial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance. He has set up a WGS workflow for the infection prevention and control unit.
Clement obtained his PhD in Environmental Microbiology from University of Hong Kong and performed postdoc research in UBC, Westmead Hospital (Australia) and BC Centre for Disease Control, Canada. His research interests focus on the evolution, ecology, and population genomics of microbial pathogens to humans, and plants. Currently, he is studying the genomic epidemiology and mechanisms of resistance of fungal pathogen causing candidemia and skin infections.
